 What is tie dye 


Tye dye is a process of tying a piece of fabric before it is dipped in dye in order to make  patterns on the fabric. The tying is usually done with string ,rubber band , some time wood ,  and the earliest and historical  use of tie dye are from 500 to 81 0 AD in Peru. Their designs include small circles and lines with bright colors such as red, yellow, blue, and green. different forms of tie-dye are practiced in many parts of the world  shibori in Japan, plangi and ikat in Indonesia and similar techniques in West Africa. Tie-dye gained popularity in the United States of America in the 20th century .
Dye dye in sri Lanka in developing rapidly now and many designers are use  tie and dye techniques for their designs and mix tie dye and batik is very popular in sri Lanka
